FAQ

Common questions

How do I scan a code?

Open QRport and point the camera at any QR code or barcode. Detection is automatic — there is no shutter button and nothing to tap. You can also tap the photo icon to read a code out of an image already in your library, which is handy for screenshots.

What is the link safety check?

Before you open a scanned link, QRport inspects its structure and flags patterns commonly used in phishing: lookalike domains that imitate a well-known brand, links that hide their real destination, raw IP addresses, link shorteners, unencrypted connections and throwaway domains. You get a plain-language explanation rather than a raw URL you have to decode yourself.

Is the safety check antivirus?

No, and we are careful not to describe it that way. It is a structural check of the link itself, performed entirely on your device, and it can be wrong in both directions. "Nothing suspicious found" means no known pattern matched — it is not a guarantee that a link is safe. Always use your own judgement.

Do I need an account?

No. QRport has no sign-in at all. Open it and it works.

Where is my data stored?

On your device, and nowhere else. Your scan history lives in the app's local storage, the camera feed is never recorded, and the codes you scan are never uploaded — not to us, not to anyone. You can clear your history at any time in Settings, and deleting the app removes everything.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Scanning, the safety check, code generation and history all work with no connection at all. Nothing in the core app needs the internet.

Which codes can it read?

QR codes plus twelve barcode formats: EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 39, Code 93, Code 128, ITF-14, Codabar, PDF417, Aztec and Data Matrix. Wi-Fi networks, contacts, phone numbers, emails, SMS, locations and calendar events are recognised and shown as something you can act on.

Is QRport free?

Scanning and the safety check are free and unlimited, forever — no trial, no limit, no account. They cost us nothing to run, so we do not charge for them. QRport Pro is an optional subscription that adds unlimited history (the free version keeps your last 50 codes), custom colours and dot styles for codes you create, and bulk generation.

How do I cancel Pro?

QRport Pro is an auto-renewing subscription billed through your App Store or Google Play account. Manage or cancel it anytime from your device's subscription settings — it renews unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can also reach it from Settings inside the app.

I bought Pro but it is not showing

Open Settings, tap QRport Pro and choose Restore purchases. Purchases are tied to your store account, so this works on a new device too. If it still does not appear, email us.

Which platforms and languages are supported?

QRport runs on iPhone and Android. The interface is available in English, Spanish and Indonesian.
